Project Studio Line inherits the superior acoustic performance of AKG microphones, which are used in recording studios around the world. We have generously applied the unique microphone development technology that has produced numerous masterpieces such as the C414 and C451, and have achieved extremely musical sound that captures the warmth of the sound source, just like the higher-end models. Each part has been carefully selected, including a high-quality diaphragm and a low-noise transformerless circuit, resulting in superior sound quality that exceeds its class. It reproduces every minute nuance of the sound source. In addition, the maximum sound pressure level has been achieved at 135dB (130dB for P120), and it is also equipped with a 20dB pad, so even high sound pressure sources can be picked up with clear sound without distortion. Project Studio Line's thorough noise countermeasures allow you to make high-quality recordings even in harsh environments. The all-metal housing suppresses the effects of radio wave interference from mobile phones and wireless systems, and prevents noise. It is also equipped with a low-cut filter (except for P170), which can suppress external noise such as air conditioning system noise, floor vibration, and wind. Furthermore, the carefully controlled cardioid polar pattern also reduces background noise, allowing you to clearly capture only the sound you are aiming for (P820 TUBE and P420 can select multiple polar patterns). The P820 TUBE, P420, and P220 also come with a suspension holder that protects the microphone from vibrations and minimizes the effects of floor noise. Project Studio Line is highly reliable and performs well even on the harshest live stages. The diaphragm has gold deposited on only one side, which prevents shorting of the electrodes even if the diaphragm contacts the back plate due to high sound pressure. It is also equipped with a robust front grill to protect the inside of the microphone from rough handling on stage. Furthermore, the gold-plated XLR connector has excellent resistance to temperature and humidity, and prevents deterioration of sound quality due to aging.
